Divided differences and parking functions

In this talk I will show a connection between divided differences and parking functions. Based on this connection, we give a new proof of the real-rootedness of the descent generating polynomials of parking functions, which were first obtained by Athanasiadis, Douvropoulos, and Kalampogia-Evangelinou. This is based on my ongoing work joint with Alice Gao, Xin-Bei Liu and James Zhao.

主讲人介绍：

杨立波，南开大学教授，博士生导师。现任南开大学组合数学中心副主任。1999年毕业于郑州大学，获理学学士学位。2004年毕业于南开大学，获理学博士学位。杨立波教授主要从事计数组合学和代数组合学方面的研究，已在《Trans. Amer. Math. Soc.》、《Intern. Math. Res. Notices》、《J. Combinatorial Theory Series, A》、《Adv. Appl. Math.》、《SIAM Discrete Math.》等数学期刊发表论文40余篇，并参与和主持多项国家自然科学基金项目。
