On the fractional chromatic number of K∆-free graphs

For a simple graph G, let \chi_f(G) be the fractional chromatic number of G. In this talk, we prove that for \Delta \geq 4, if G has maximum degree at most \Delta and is K_{\Delta}-free, then \chi_f(G) \leq \Delta-\frac{1}{8} unless G= C^2_8 or G = C_5\boxtimes K_2. This improves the result in [King, Lu, and Peng, SIAM J. Discrete Math., 26(2) (2012), pp. 452-471] for \Delta \geq 4 and the result in [Katherine and King, SIAM J. Discrete Math., 27(2) (2013), pp. 1184-1208] for \Delta \in \{6,7,8\}.

胡小兰，华中师范大学数学与统计学学院副研究员，博士生导师。2015年博士毕业于南京大学。2013.09-2013.12在美国西弗吉尼亚大学进行短期学术访问，2017.03-2018.09在捷克查理大学访问。主持国家自然科学基金面上项目和青年项目各1项，湖北省自然科学基金青年项目1项。发表SCI检索论文二十多篇。
