Nanomaterials for energy applications

讲座内容:

Nanomaterials, such as carbon nanotubes, metal oxides nanowires and nanoparticles, and perovskite nanomaterials, have great promise for applications in electronics, optics, materials science, energy storage, and solar energy harvesting due to their interesting structural and physical properties which can be designed at the synthesis level. In this talk, (1) the synthesis, structure, electrochemical lithiation process of cobalt sulfide (Co9S8) filled carbon nanotubes will be discussed. The single crystalline Co9S8 filled the cavity of a multi-walled carbon nanotube to form a core-shell nanowire, a single core-shell nanowire is then used to build a rechargeable battery to observe the in-situ chemical lithiation-delithiation process. The results show that the encapsulation of Co9S8 within a closed carbon nanotube has significantly improved the cyclability during the lithiation-delithiation cycles of the rechargeable battery. (2) The roles of nano-structured materials in solution processed solar cells will be reviewed. As examples, the synthesis of rutile TiO2 nanorod array and its application as photoanode for dye-sensitized solar cells will be discussed. Then, the architectures and working principles of the newly emerged perovskite nanomaterial based solar cells will be presented. The management of the nanostructure and the charge transport at the nano scale are crucial for improving the device efficiency. Smart approaches for fabricating perovskite solar cells with high efficiency and simple process will be delineated.

主讲人介绍:

李文治, 美国佛罗里达国际大学物理系教授。1986山东大学物理系毕业,1986-1999在河北师范学院(现河北师范大学)物理系任教。1994年获北京师范大学物理系理学硕士学位,1997年获中国科学院物理研究所凝聚态物理理学博士学位,1998-1999 获得英国皇家学会王宽成学者基金,并在英国Sussex 大学化学与环境学院从事研究工作,1999-2003 在美国波士顿学院任高级研究员。

主要研究方向:碳纳米管、金属氧化物纳米材料的制备、结构及物理性能的研究;碳纳米管-金属硫化物复合材料的电化学锂化特性的研究;纳米热电材料的合成及其应用研究;燃料敏化太阳能电池和有机钙钛矿太阳能电池的研究。

研究成果:在国际重要学术刊物, Science, Nature, ACS Nano,Carbon, Nanotechnology, Applied Physics Letters 等杂志上发表论文90多篇。获1999年全国百篇优秀博士论文奖,国家自然科学二等奖一项,中科院自然科学一等奖一项,中国科学院文献情报中心全国单篇论文引用一等奖(连续两年:1999年和2000年),ISI 经典引文奖(ISI Citation Classic Award),化学物理快报引用率最高论文奖 (Chemical Physics Letters Most Cited paper 2003-2007 Award),美国自然科学基金会的职业奖(USA National Science Foundation Career Award)。所发表的论文已经被引用4400多次。李文治教授为中国在Science杂志上发表碳纳米管类文章的第一人。目前此文(Science 274卷,1701页,(1996))已被引用1700多次。此工作为纳米碳管及其它一维纳米结构的光电器件研究与产业化奠定了基础。
